Handling Spray Tan White Spots
You tell your clients how to prepare for a tanning session, but then they don’t exfoliate properly, or at all, and they end up developing small white spots (which are essentially dry patches) on their bodies after their spray tan session is over.
As unattractive as these spots can look, it’s sometimes still possible to salvage the tan. The following are some tips you can offer your clients to help them handle spray tan white spots and still look good.
Dab affected areas with baby oil
The first thing clients should do is to apply baby oil to the spotty areas and let it soak into the skin for 15 to 20 minutes. The baby oil will make it easier for the spray tan to scrub off.
Bathe or shower
A bath or shower will remove the baby oil. Clients should use a washcloth, bath brush or loofah to scrub the areas where the spotting is most severe. This will exfoliate the area and remove the spray tanner so that the white spots are much less noticeable.
Dry off and touch up
Clients should then pat skin dry. A product like New Gorgeous’ Brazilian Mist Tanning Spray applied to spotted areas (which should now be lighter) or Tan Extender with Bronzers can help to even out a tan.
Should this procedure not help, clients will need to go through the above process again until the entire tan has been removed. Then they can reschedule another session, this time a little wiser about the need to exfoliate thoroughly before a spray tan.
At New Gorgeous, we make 100% natural, vegan-certified products that make your clients look and feel great. Perhaps more importantly, though, we also offer everything professional spray tanners like you need, from training and advice to top-notch equipment, to stand head and shoulders above your competition.
